A Letter From the Family and Friends of Tim
Our many thanks to all who supported the family and friends of Timothy McClatchy.
We all miss Tim and call on him daily for his guidance. Tim was a strong force during the opening of M-Able. Ten years later, we are without Tim physically, but feel spiritually that Tim is keeping our passion alive to continue the M-Able mission. We smile when we think of you Timothy!
Since August 2007, one can hear great music from our weekly music therapy session. Joe Riley, owner of Tune-Up Network Enterprises, has helped our clients laugh and sing. Joe has the ability to get even the most physically challenged person involved with his high tech lasers and easy push buttons. To help start this pro-gram a generous donation was given by, RE/MAX Main Line Charitable Foundation,
a fund of the Chester County Community Foundation.
When my son, Tim, was injured in an auto accident in l988 and I was told he had a traumatic brain injury I did not know what that meant. I really expected him to come around and be his old self with each passing day. Slowly as I watched him regain his strength after going through physical crisis after physical crisis I realized that he needed to have someplace to go to be with others who were suffering the same frustrations and struggles that he was. This is how M-Able came to be. It is an upbeat, happy place located on a beautiful farm in Chester County.
M-Able is in its tenth year. Our mission is to provide an educational and therapeutic setting for Traumatic Brain Injured (TBI) individuals. We strive to promote mental and physical skills which were lost through an injury. We provide care givers with time out from the rigors and stress of daily care. We also provide social interaction for those attending the program.
The clients that come to our program are inspiring to all those who work with them and to those who come to visit. They can really bring you to tears when you see how happy they can be in their accomplishments no matter how small they may seem to an outsider.
Linda Mascelli, the Director of the M-Able program has been working with the brain injured for over sixteen years. Under her supervision, we are proud of our clients and our staff who are so devoted to their work. We are also grateful to all of you who have supported our efforts year after year.
